Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials is considered the world market leader in the production of classic glass-mat-reinforced thermoplastics (GMT). This semi-finished product in panel form was developed primarily as a substitute for metals (steel, aluminum etc.) and its main purchasers can be found in the automotive industry. This is where it is frequently pressed on the industrial scale into complex 3D structural components, although it is also used as panels.

GMTex® is a high-performance thermoplastic composite material that has been developed for applications requiring exceptional impact resistance, strength, and durability. Plenco® 08218 is an 18% glass-filled polyester bulk molding compound characterized as an electrical grade, but has many outstanding properties that make it suitable for a broad range of applications because of its excellent electrical resistance and mechanical strength. Customers have found this material useful for commercial/industrial heavy duty electrical parts, enclosures for power distribution equipment, fuse holders, circuit breaker cases, electric motor housings and components. It is available in bulk or extruded form and colors upon request. It is UL recognized under file E40654.

Plenco® 08122 is a general purpose polyester bulk molding compound that is characterized by adding utility to a number of applications. Because of its combination of high heat resistance, good electrical properties, flame resistance and strength. Customers have found this material useful in such applications as iron skirts and other small appliance housings, coil bobbins, and electric motor components such as brush holders. It is available in either bulk or extruded form and is currently available in natural. Other colors are available upon request. It is UL recognized under file E40654.

Plenco® 00714 is a melamine-phenolic copolymer molding compound, offering excellent arc resistance and comparative track index values. UL recognized under component file E40654. 00714 is available in brown. 00714 was qualified under military specification MIL-M-14 (superseded by ASTM D-5948) Type CMG and batches can, if requested and paid for, be tested for certification to the standard.

Plenco® 03554 is an organic reinforced phenolic molding compound modified with PTFE to offer improved coefficient of friction values. 03554 is available in black. It is UL listed. 03554 is a re-number of 06554 formulation.

Plenco® 08235 is a 15% glass-filled polyester bulk molding compound characterized as a flame-retardant, medium-strength electrical grade. Customers have found this material useful for a broad range of applications such as capacitor cans, electrical enclosures, etc. It is available in bulk or extruded form, natural and black. Verkid® SMC H154 is used in hot press, compression molding for the production of large parts with high mechanical properties and excellent surface finish. It is a glass fiber reinforced compound, in a thermoset resin matrix, with mineral fillers and different additives.

Polynt Group SMC 3300 RF R33 is a sheet molding compound based on an unsaturated polyester resin, fire retardant grade, halogen-free, reinforced with glass fibers. This SMC has been developed for electrical application. SMC 3300 RF R33 joint excellent mechanical properties and good fire protection grade. Polynt Group BMC RF 9/20 is a bulk molding compound based on an unsaturated polyester resin, fire retardant grade, halogen-free, reinforced with glass fibers. This BMC has been developed for electrical application. Good mechanical properties and good fire protection grade are combined into the BMC RF 9/20. Mar-Bal MB2000-5 is an excellent flame and track resistant material possessing outstanding electrical and mechanical properties.

Urochem Molding Compound 136 by BI-QEM is a urea formaldehyde resin. It is filled with highly refined cellulose and modified with special purpose additives, pigments, cure regulators and lubricants. It provides excellent electrical properties and resistance against surfactants & weak bases. It offers high hardness, glossy surface, excellent scratch resistance and excellent chemical resistance. It can be processed by injection molding. Urochem Molding Compound 136 is recommended for electrical components such as sockets, lamp holders and domestic circuit breakers. Its shelf life is of 12 months below 20°C. The molded products can be recycled and exhibits good UV stability with good moisture resistance.
