It is unaffected by the nature of the binder, oils, resins, varnishes or vehicles. It has no influence on gloss, color, color retention, drying time, flexibility, water and chemical resistance, adhesion or durability. Being moisture free, it will not cause rusting in containers and is safe for use with zinc dust.

METOLAT® P 588 is an APEO free wetting agent in powder form. It is added to dry blends, which are dissolved in water before application. The addition of METOLAT® P 588 results in an accelerated wetting of all solid particles, including sand, cement and fibers. This results in a more homogeneous mixture of the mass and a more uniform aspect of the surface after drying. In pigmented systems METOLAT® P 588 leads to a faster wetting of the pigment surface and prevents reagglomeration.

It is resistant to most customary solvents and shows a good resistance to temperatures of up to 200 °C. When used as an additive in solvent-based paint systems, Deuteron OG 8634 improves properties regarding slip and static friction and provides increased mechanical resistance. Compared with wax based, Deuteron OG 8634 does not spoil the recoatability. The small particle size allows for its use in coating-systems which are applied in low film thickness. Deuteron OG 863x can reduce the gloss when used as a surface additive. This can be desired for certain applications. The gloss reduction is dependant on the type of employed binder, the applied film thickness and the selected dosage.Deuteron OG 8634 is designed for the use in aqueous and solvent-based lacquers and in coatings which are applied in low film thickness. Due to the good weather resistance and color fastness of the used polymer the product can also be used in coating systems for exterior applications.
