In addition to thiol groups, silanol and diols are generated upon the hydrolysis of the silane. It behaves as a reactive diluent within a coating formulation, and is recommended for industrial maintenance applications, automotive, appliance, and coil applications; epoxy primers for metals and flooring, and aurospace and automotive refinishing applications.

It provides high cohesion, toughness, low electrostatic charging and re-dissolving capacity of the dried film in water.
