AGC Chemicals Americas, Inc. LUMIFLON® FD1000 - FEVE Waterborne Resin Polyol is a fluoroethylene vinyl ether waterborne resin used in applications requiring outstanding exterior durability. It is a polyol used in 2K polyurethane coatings and may be used as a blending resin in 1K systems. It has a low molecular weight combined with a high hydroxyl value for creating 2K waterbased polyurethane coatings with a high crosslink density. This waterborne polyol is classified as a dispersion as it is synthesized without emulsifier. This unique, emulsifier-free technology allows for the formulation of waterbased 2K polyurethane coatings with the same performance as traditional solventbased 2K coatings. Markets include heavy duty industrial coatings, architectural coatings, aerospace coatings, automotive coatings, and coatings for concrete.

AGC Chemicals Americas, Inc. LUMIFLON® LF-600X consists of alternating fluoroethylene and alkyl vinyl ether segments (FEVE). The fluorinated segments provide outstanding UV stability, weather resistance, and chemical resistance, while the vinyl ether segments provide solvent compatibility and crosslinking sites. LUMIFLON resins are used to make ultra-weatherable coatings for architectural, aerospace, automotive, and industrial maintenance markets. LUMIFLON LF-600X is a moderate OH number resin. It is typically used to formulate coil coatings where flexibility and excellent weatherability are required. The major market where LF-600X finds application is the architectural market. However, LF-600X is also being used in ambient cure applications where high coating flexibility is required, for example, in coatings for plastics.

It can be used as the sole binder or as a blending resin for coatings that need high performance at a low VOC. It can be crosslinked with polyisocyanates for air dry applications or either blocked polyisocyanates or amino resins for bake applications. Its high molecular weight makes it suitable for 1K coatings as well. Markets include light duty industrial coatings, architectural coatings, aerospace coatings, automotive coatings, and coatings for concrete.

This product is meant to be formulated without crosslinkers, yielding coatings with extremely high weatherability and corrosion resistance. Potential applications for coatings made with it include architectural, industrial maintenance, and bridge coatings. LUMIFLON® polymers consist of alternating fluoroethylene and alkyl vinyl ether segments (FEVE). The fluorinated segments provide outstanding UV stability, weather resistance, and chemical resistance, while the vinyl ether segments provide solvent compatibility and crosslinking sites.
