Nitrile is a form of synthetic rubber that is generally resistant to oil, fuel, and other chemicals (the more nitrile within the polymer, the higher the resistance to oils but the lower the flexibility of the material). Nancar® NBR 4975 is an ultra-high acrylonitrile butadiene copolymer with excellent oil resistance. It is polymerized at low temperature and contains sufficient antioxidant for normal aging conditions. It has good processing characteristics in compounds where flow and knitting are desired and is especially valuable in high durometer compounds.
