The recommended primers are THIXON® P-11-EF or MEGUM® W-7025 if a two coat bonding system is required. This waterborne-based adhesive that has been designed specifically for bonding EPDM to glass substrates and provides one coat adhesion to many other substrates.

BETAMATE® 1440 is a one-component, heat-curing, epoxy-based adhesive developed especially for body shop applications. It is capable of bonding oily galvanized, cold-rolled steel, and aluminum. BETAMATE® 1440 has excellent process and storage stability and excellent adhesion to automotive steels (including coated steels and pretreated aluminum with good tolerance to oil and dry lubes). BETAMATE® 1440 helps to increase stiffness and crash stability of the entire car body with high durability of the adhesive and the adhesive bond and corrosion protection due to its sealing capability. It is compatible with other mechanical and thermal joining techniques, compatible with the e-coat process, wash-off resistant and precurable up to six weeks open time in the uncured bond. Typical applications include bonding of the vehicle body structure and closure hem flange applications.
