It remains secure at temperatures to 5432°F (3000°C) in inert or reducing atmospheres. Grade GC-5000F is applied to clean, dust-free surfaces and cured at 266°F (130°C) for four hours. Considerable strength is now present in the cured joint and the article may be rapidly brought to any elevated operating temperature. By 1292°F (700°C) no residual organic or inorganic contaminants are present and the joint analyzes approximately 99% carbon. When properly applied and cured, the joint is often stronger than the substrate.
