This specialty heat shrink is engineered for applications that not only require thin walls but also a shrink-to-fit encapsulation protection. For this speciality heat shrink, we can even maintain wall thicknesses extending below 0.001" (0.025 mm) with tolerances of ± 0.0005" (0.0127 mm). PTFE has an extremely low coefficient of friction making it especially desirable when needing to push covered components such as guidewires through tight fitting or occluded vessels. For medical applications, PTFE products are sterilizable by several options and are also biocompatible.
