Charmax™ LS Z4AF is a low cost molybdenum-based smoke suppressant synergist for PVC applications. Charmax™ LS Z4AF is specifically designed to reduce smoke in building wire and general purpose wire & cable applications.

Flamtard V grades are inorganic silicate based flame retardant synergists, chemically modified to control the glass transition temperatures over which they soften (470-500 °C). Above this they convert into a highly viscous molten state in which they can help to reduce the creation and propagation of micro cracks in char formation during polymer combustion. Flamtard V can also improve adhesion of metal oxide residues and oxidized organic materials, leading to mechanically stronger chars. Flamtard V can be used in mica filled silicon based security cables, flame retardant intumescent PVC and PUR materials for the building and construction industry, polyamides and polyolefins. For other polymers, check the potential stability with TGA first. This proven replacement for antimony trioxide can be used alone or in conjunction with other materials in the Flamtard range.

PEXIDAN® SX409 pre-grafted base is mixed with a crosslinking catalyst masterbatch CM401 in the ratio 95:5. The SX409:CM401 compound has been developed specifically for cables operating up to 36kV. This compound is typically used in conjunction with crosslinkable semi-conducting material for conductor and insulation shields. Crosslinking is obtained by exposure to moist or hot water immersion only.

Shrieve DF 500 Dielectric Fluid is used in high pressure pipe-type cable systems. Shrieve DF 500 is derived from synthetic alkylates and polybutene. The specifications and typical tests are set forth below. DF 500 is also suitable as a cable pulling lubricant for underground cable systems due to its excellent lubricity and compatibility with other dielectric fluids.

The polymer contains no nitrosamines and substances that may become a source of nitrosamines.

SACO AEI Polymers THERMODAN® HF 0103-212 NT is a flame retardant non-halogen thermoplastic wire and cable compound. It is designed for use in a variety of jacketing applications. This compound has superior fire performance including slow flame propagation, low smoke production and low smoke corrosivity. THERMODAN® HF 0103-212NT can be used as a jacket compound on cables recognized under UL 1277 tray cables and can pass flame retardant requirements set forth under UL 1685, IEEE 1202 and FT-4. THERMODAN® HF 0103-212 NT is recognized under UL 2885 as being halogen free. It is natural in color and UV resistant.

Styrene butadiene synthetic rubber SBR-1500 is essentially a styrene (23.5%) and butadiene (76.5%) copolymer obtained by emulsification method with the use of resin/fatty soaps.

Santicizer® 154 is a liquid, non-halogen, triaryl phosphate ester fire retardant plasticizer used in multiple polymer systems. This plasticizer is similar to tricresyl phosphate in performance properties, but without the neuro-toxicity associated with ortho-cresol materials. Within the Santicizer® family of plasticizers, Santicizer® 154 offers the best fire retardant properties. Santicizer® 154 is a great option in many applications where fire resistance is paramount, but plasticization is not a key property or where plasticization may need to be compensated for.

PEXIDAN® X/T is a low density flame-retardant XLPE system curable by moisture and consists of a silane pre-grafted base compound A-3001 and a flame retardant catalyst masterbatch CAT-005FR. Mixed and extruded in the proper proportions (80:20), the two components result in a material that is curable by exposure to 70-95°C hot water or even ambient moisture. In order to prevent pre-scorching the grafted compound and the catalyst masterbatch must be stored separately and mixed only when used. PEXIDAN® X/T is halogenated but is RoHS compliant.

PEXIDAN® V/T-2UV is a low density flame retardant XLPE system, curable by moisture and consists of a silane grafted base compound A-3001 and a catalyst masterbatch CAT-083FR-UV. Mixed and extruded in the proper proportions (50/50), the two components result in a material that is curable by exposure to hot water. PEXIDAN® V/T-2UV is halogenated but is RoHS-compliant. Insulation made with this system may be marked SUNRES or ‘SR’ in all colors and in all sizes per UL44, UL4703 and CSA C22.2 #38. This product is also CSA-listed for RW90, RWU90, RPV90 RPVU90 and CIC, ‘SR’ and -40C rated.

OMNISTAB® AN 1010 is a pentaerythritol tetrakis[3-[3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl]propionate. It is a sterically hindered phenolic primary antioxidant.

Millathane® UV is an ultra-violet curable millable polyurethane compound typically used with Millathane® 97, but other Grades can be used as well. Millable polyurethane extrusions can be continuously cured and products molded using UV light without the use of ovens, microwaves or salt bath units. (Patent Pending) These curable compounds can be extruded or calendered onto fabric or as an unsupported sheet and then continuously cured by passing them through a UV-curing conveyor belt chamber. Molded parts can be press-cured using special transparent molds to allow curing with UV light, or can be cured in a UV chamber. Time of irradiation varies with the nature and type of material, the type and concentration of other ingredients, and the type and power of the light source. They are great for extruding hollow tubing and other continuous shapes, such as bars, rods, L-channels, U-channels, square tubing, and the like. It’s great for extruded protective covering over all types of cables, hoses, and protective conduit.
