CHROMA-CHEM® 844 Colorants are designed specifically for use in high-performance, non-aqueous, industrial coatings. The various pigments in this colorant line are dispersed in a proprietary acrylic resin vehicle. This vehicle provides excellent wetting and dispersing properties superior to other acrylic resins. The solvents used are a blend of Propylene Glycol Monomethyl Ether Acetate (PMA) and Naphthol Spirits. They are non-red label and conform to Rule 66 and similar regulations. Each colorant contains a carefully selected and unique blend of vehicle, solvent, pigment and surfactants to yield acceptance in a wide range of non-aqueous coatings applications. The individual CHROMA-CHEM® 844 colorant formulations are designed to minimize the surfactant and additive levels needed to achieve colorant acceptance in a variety of coatings systems. A recent effort has been made to remove APEO additives from the 844 colorants. The back of the product sheets shows information about each colorant in the line, including whether the colorant is formulated with APEO additives.

The range of Solvasperse AK colorants provide excellent compatability, consistent performance and minimal effect on paint properties. Developed for medium-oil architectural alkyd paints, these colorants are formulated with alkyd resin and aromatic-free solvents. The Solvasperse AK colorants have a reduced VOC content of <300 g/l and newly approved anti-skinning agent. This guarantees compliance with the current EU directive, provided that the paint itself meets the requirements. Two transparent iron oxide colorant options are available for wood finishing applications. Because of their transparent nature, the wood structure remains visible. At the same time, the colorant does not affect important physical properties of the paint, such as weather resistance and UV barriers.

EBECRYL® P115 is a copolymerizable amine used as a hydrogen donor, or photoactivator, in ultraviolet light (UV) curable coatings and inks. When used in formulations in combination with a photosensitizer (e.g. ADDITOL® BP), EBECRYL® P115 provides rapid UV cure response in air by mitigating the effects of oxygen inhibition at the coating or ink surface.
