CASAL DE REY & Cia. Was founded in 1952 by Santos José CASAL DE REY, with its manufacturing establishment located in Wilde at that time. The first products manufactured by the company were various Metallic Stearates, then at the request of a paint company they began to manufacture the Metallic Afthenates used as drying catalysts in synthetic enamels and varnishes. These Naphthenates were the precursors of the Octoates that began to be manufactured in the early 70s, from there the Octoates began to have a greater diffusion as drying agents for paints and inks.
