"Vital Earth Resources, Inc. was founded in 1983 by the Hammer family. Vital Earth pioneered In-Vessel Composting and introduced the commercial use of compost in horticultural and landscape soils. Our goals were to produce the highest quality, most consistent, nutrient rich compost in the market. Today, we continue to achieve these high quality results and promote valued relationships with our partners in horticulture and agriculture. Our compost-based soil products include a variety of grower and professional landscape blends for all soil environments and every growing condition. Soils are crafted for container growers, landscape contractors, bedding plant producers, tree growers, gardeners, horticulturalists and a variety of other growing applications. Vital Earth also markets a full line of consumer bagged soils and mulch products, which are made to the same exacting standards as our professional brands. In 1993, Vital Earth acquired the renowned Texas fertilizer manufacturer, Carl Pool Products, now a division of Vital Earth Resources. Since Carl Pool was founded in 1945, the brand has developed a reputation for superior quality fertilizers for both growers and home-owners. Carl Pool produces a complete line of water soluble, granular blends, and Earth Safe Organics fertilizers for retail distribution and grower use. The Vital Earth VITAZYME division is extensively involved in the creation and marketing of agricultural biostimulants worldwide. Vitazyme reduces the need for application of nitrogen, a costly constituent of agricultural applications, and is now used worldwide in more than twenty-five countries. Customers and scientific studies throughout the world attest to the effectiveness of Vitazyme to enhance crop yields and improve food quality."

"The SCOP CHANVRIÈRE DU BELON was created in 1997 by 3 partners: a builder, a farmer and a manager. For 5 years, she carried out her own cultivation and processing of hemp (defibration and straw cutting). At the same time, a SCOP team is dedicated to the implementation of hemp and lime on construction sites in the South of Brittany. The other part of the team dealt with distribution to individuals and professionals. In 2001, the SCOP stopped carrying out projects to devote itself entirely to the development of the market for products derived from hemp. One of the partners sets up on his own as a craftsman specializing in hemp and lime. Since 1999, EFFIREAL (the hemp wool manufacturing plant) has been involved in the development of hemp wool with LA CHANVRIÈRE DU BELON. From the start, the tests were conclusive and the material reliable. A close relationship was then established between EFFIREAL and the SCOP CHANVRIÈRE DU BELON on these notions of manufacturing and product improvement: hemp wool was born and began its debut on the limited ecology market. The SCOP CHANVRIÈRE DU BELON, specialized in hemp since 1997, really begins the marketing of wool with an increased presence at local and national fairs. The beginnings remain difficult in a market where ecology is still anecdotal. But the future shows us that perseverance is rewarded. Since 2001, the ecology market has developed, following a collective awareness and a resurgence of eco-fairs. EFFIREAL also experienced growing development between 2000 and 2005, the year the former director retired. A choice then arises: the factory must find a buyer to exist."
