SynFoam AD s a two component, room temperature curing, castable syntactic designed for casting lightweight complex shapes, where the need for acoustic transparency is a priority. Synfoam AD shows high levels of echo reduction both at ambient pressure and at operating depth. It has been used in the manufacture of sonar domes and sonar windows in submarines. The cast product provides an acoustically transparent housing that surrounds and protects a marine ship’s sophisticated sonar transducer array. SynFoam AD is available as 1, 2, and 5 gallon kits. Each kit contains an A and B side that must be mixed together prior to casting. Cure is achieved within 24 hours and full properties will be realized after 7 days at room temperature. Densities can be customized to the user's specifications. Please consult the appropriate instructions for limitations of depth of cure. If you have a specific mold for use with SynFoam AD we also provide final casting and fabrication services. Services include casting and finishing with a quality paint.

Divinycell HCP grade meets the demand for a high performance, low density buoyancy material with excellent characteristics. It is widely used in submarines, subsea buoyancy units, ROVs, diving bells and impact protection structures. As a result of its excellent hydraulic compressive properties and closed cell structure, it has very low buoyancy loss and water absorption under long-term loading conditions. HCP stands for Hydraulic Crush Point and is defined as the point of pressure in Bar, where the material when subjected to an increasing pressure of 1-2 Bar/sec has lost 5% of its initial volume. The design of subsea buoyancy applications is complex and consideration has to be given to the required buoyancy loss and updrift over the expected lifetime and service conditions, with respect to long and short term hydraulic compressive creep, water absorption and hydraulic fatigue. HYTAC® C1R is a toughened copolymer thermoset syntactic foam modified to provide high friction and the highest durability of any copolymer syntactic foam. Relatively new to the market (introduced in 2012) it has gained popularity for deep draw or zero draft application areas where high friction is needed. C1R was featured in the show daily at NPE 2015 after successful trials with Milliken Chemical and uVu Technologies demonstrated superior performance with transparent PP. Excellent surface characteristics are obtained straight from machining and may be easily modified with sandpaper to carry more or less material into the mold as needed. It may be polished to a very smooth surface when necessary for working with transparent plastics.
