LUMIFLON
Applications:
Aerospace & Aviation, Architectural Coatings, Metal Coatings
Product Families:
Prepolymers & Polyols, Monomers & Intermediates, Other Resins & Binders
Chemical Family:
Fluoropolymers, Fluoroethylene Vinyl Ether (FEVE), Polyols
End Uses:
Waterborne Coating, 2K (2 component) Coating, 1K (1 component) Coating
LUMIFLON® is the first solvent-soluble fluoropolymer resin for coatings that can be cured at room temperature or at elevated temperatures. LUMIFLON resins, used in topcoats, are ultra-weatherable, and maintain their excellent appearance on buildings, bridges, and other structures, as well as on aircraft, automobiles, and solar panels. LUMIFLON coatings protect steel, aluminum and other metals as well as concrete from degradation by UV light, wind and rain, and corrosion. A transparent fluororesin, LUMIFLON can be used to make both clear and pigmented coatings. Because of their ultra-weatherability, LUMIFLON based coatings offer substantial life cycle cost savings over conventional coatings. The resins can be formulated into coatings with a range of gloss (from high gloss to flat finishes) in more than 230 colors. LUMIFLON resins are available for almost any type of coating, including solvent based resins, powder coating resins, environmentally friendly solid resins for low VOC and HAPS free coatings, and water emulsion and water dispersion resins. Fluon+
Chemical Family:
Fluoropolymers
While AGC is the largest long-standing custom fluoropolymer compounder in the world, we are broadening our value-added material science solutions by creating the Fluon+ brand of products. Drawing from an extensive global supply chain of resins and fillers, we can produce virtually any enhanced polymer by adding reactive functionality, pigments, reinforced fillers, flexibility and more to create five different classes of materials under the Fluon+ brand. We offer a wide selection of off-the-shelf compounds that can be used to enhance thermoplastic parts, components, composite materials and substrates. These materials add performance characteristics such as chemical resistance, wear resistance, creep resistance, toughness, lubricity, thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity. Custom solutions are also available.
CYTOP
Applications:
Electronics Coatings, Packaging & Assembly, Specialty Coatings
Product Families:
Other Resins & Binders, Resins & Binders
Chemical Family:
Fluoropolymers
Same excellent chemical, thermal, electrical and surface properties as conventional fluoropolymers like PTFEs, but also exhibit high optical transparency and good solubility in specific fluorinated solvents. CYTOP fluoropolymers are like transparent PTFEs.The thermoplastic characteristics of CYTOP, coupled with its transparency, solubility, insulation properties, resistance to chemicals, and oils/water repellency, make it a popular choice for coating electronic materials. CYTOP amorphous fluoropolymers exhibits low refractive index, low coefficient of optical dispersion and good lamination properties. CYTOP amorphous fluoropolymers are available on request in various solvents (110ºC - 180ºC) and at various concentrations.
RESIFA™ SOLESPHERE
SOLESPHERE™ microsphere silica gels are environmentally safe, non-nanoparticle, non-plastic, non-petroleum ingredients that enhance the performance of skincare and cosmetics. They can be used in oil-in-water, water-in-oil and anhydrous formulations to provide UV boost, reduce greasiness and stickiness, minimize pores, absorb oil and perspiration, improve spreadability and provide a matte appearance.
ASAHIKLIN
End Uses:
Grease
AGC's AsahiKlin AE-3000 series of environmentally sensible fluorinated solvents were designed to replace halogenated solvents with unfavorable environmental properties. AE-3000 cleaning agents have no flash point, no Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP), Low Global Warming Potential (LGWP) and low surface tension.AE-3000 solvents are approved for use as precision cleaning solvents, defluxing agents for electronic circuitry, carrier solvents for silicone and fluorinated lubricants, and moisture displacement fluids. They can also be used in most existing vapor degreasing equipment with little or no modification.
RESIFA™ M.S.GEL
M.S.GEL™ grades are highly pure microspherical silica gels. The perfectly spherical shape of M.S.GEL particles enables higher loading capacity with lower column back pressure while providing good separation. M.S.GEL silica are commonly used in HPLC applications and are available in particle sizes ranging from 1.6 to 300 µm and pore sizes from 60 to 1500 Å. AGC’s proprietary processes produce silica gels with narrow particle size distribution and the pore sizes are very uniform throughout the particles. The broad range of particle and pore sizes of M.S.GEL offer many solutions to a variety of needs including Flash Chromatography, Ultra HPLC, and Size Exclusion Chromatography used in HPLC equipment. M.S.GEL wide pore grades and sub 5 µm grades are used to purify or separate large molecules such as polymers, biopolymers, antibodies, oligosaccharides, polysaccharides and proteins.
RESIFA™ SUNSPERA
Applications:
Chemical Manufacturing, Chemical & Industrial Manufacturing
Product Families:
Carriers & Supports, Catalyst Ingredients
Chemical Family:
Silica
End Uses:
Catalyst Support
AGC offers a wide range of silica products – under the name SUNSPERA™ – for catalyst supports. These catalyst supports play an important role in conjunction with the catalyst for polyolefin polymerization and the synthesis of organic compounds. When manufacturing polyethylene and polypropylene, the properties of SUNSPERA silica gel have a significant effect on the polymerization process and properties of the finished polymer. SUNSPERA particles' pore structure, spherical shape and particle distribution are precisely defined. Using them as catalyst supports improves the morphology and increases the bulk density of the finished polymer resin. It also improves productivity. The SUNSPERA product line has grades suitable for liquid phase/slurry processes and gas phase processes.
Fluon
Applications:
Tape & Label Adhesives
Fluon® ETFE resins are melt-processable copolymers composed of ethylene and tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE). Their superior physical toughness and resistance to chemicals, UV and extreme temperatures make these resins ideally suited for a wide range of high performance products and components such as industrial wiring and electronics. ETFE resins are also resistant to ultraviolet light, so they are ideal for outdoor use. A 16,000-hour accelerated weathering test (comparable to 30 years’ exposure) produced almost no signs of film deterioration.
