AL FS 800 is hydrophilic fumed silica surface treated with polydimethylsiloxane to make it hydrophobic. Fumed silica’s unique manufacturing process produces a very high purity type of silica with nano size primary particles, a fluffy white powder that is an amorphous and colloidal form of silica. These characteristics impart a wide range of benefits to formulations from thickening and reinforcement to free flow and anti-settling. AL151 is a clear, colorless, strongly alkaline liquid with smell and being very sensitive to hydrolysis. The chloride content ranges in the lower ppm-level. AL151 is used as adhesion promoter at organic/inorganic interfaces, for modification of surfaces (corrosion prevention, component of primers) or as a moisture crosslinker of silicone polymers. The application as “coupling agent” leads in general to an improvement of mechanical and electrical product properties above all under exposure to heat and/or moisture.

AL PS-40, a precipitated, non-crystalline, amorphous silica, is an excellent silica for improving mechanical properties of rubber and elastomers. Due to its high level of absorption, it can be used as a carrier for liquid additives in applications such as animal feed. It is also an excellent thickener in liquid systems.
