Additol VXW 4940 N is the nonylphenol ethoxylatefree version of Additol VXW 4940. Additol VXW 4940 N exhibits better touch and through drying properties in comparison to Additol VXW 6206. Incorporation into externally emulsified alkyds is better than with Additol VXW 4940.

Additol VXW 4940 N can be used as drier for all water-dilutable, oxidatively drying alkyd resin paints. Especially recommendable is the usage of Additol VXW 4940 N for drying alkyd resin emulsions, e. g. Resydrol AY 586w, Resydrol AY 466w, Resydrol AZ 436w, because contrary to conventional driers a homogeneous distribution is provided and therefore a quick drying and most of all good drying stability can be achieved. Additol VXW 4940 N can also be used for acryl-alkyd hybrid systems.
- Processing Information
Although Additol VXW 4940 N may be added undiluted to the paint system, we recommend to carefully dilute it 1 : 1 with deionized water before incorporation. There is no possibility to dilute with glycolethers. Additol VXW 4940 N can be added during all stages of paint manufacturing, for critical systems adding to the mill base is recommended in order to avoid bits.

At temperatures up to 25 °C storage stability packed in original containers amounts to at least 365 days.
It is important to protect Additol VXW 4940 N from frost; at low temperatures it has therefore to be stored under frostproof conditions. Additol VXW 4940 N will be destroyed at temperatures below 0 °C.
