Distinguishing Features

BECKOPOX™ EP 117 is a resin whose viscosity has been adjusted using a reactive diluent. The non-crystallizing properties of the base resin BECKOPOX™ EP 116 have been largely retained. Enhanced is the extender/pigment loading capacity of BECKOPOX™ EP 117, therefore the resin is preferably used for highly filled systems

Special Properties and Uses

Non-crystallizing, reactive diluted liquid resin for chemical-resistant coatings, concrete injections, adhesives, trowelling casting and laminating compounds

Suggested Uses and Processing Information

BECKOPOX™ EP 117 is a solvent-free liquid, reactive-diluted non-crystallizing epoxy resin. With suited Beckopox hardeners duroplastes with low shrinkage are obtained - they can be used also for coatings with low film thickness.

Important uses are:

  • highly loaded mortars for industrial flooring subjected to vehicle traffic
  • highway repair mortar, bridge surfacing compounds
  • non-slip coating for e.g. aircraft carriers
  • metallic and concrete loading ramps
  • concrete repair mortar
  • adhesives and adhesive mortars e.g. for laying ceramic floor tiles.

BECKOPOX™ EP 117 can be combined with all hardeners but is often used with BECKOPOX™ EH 661 especially for highly filled systems in the construction field - enabling mortar compounds with low linear coefficient of expansion similar to that of concrete to be formulated. With high loading (1 : 8) excellent mechanical properties e.g. tensile strength according to DIN 53454 of approx. 160 N/mm² or to DIN 1164 of 120 N/mm² and a flexural tensile strength of approx. 40 N/mm² are achieved.
