SETALUX® 17-1746

1 of 152 products in this brand
SETALUX® 17-1746, an acrylic polyol, is formulated for use with aliphatic poly-isocyanates in 2-component coating systems, producing a robust coating with excellent chemical and abrasion resistance. This acrylic polyol ensures a hard, durable finish with outstanding gloss, color retention, and overall durability. The addition of a tin catalyst (0.01–0.05% based on resin solids) enhances film properties. Lower catalyst levels promote superior chemical resistance and extended pot life, while higher concentrations provide rapid cure times. Ideal for solventborne coatings, primers, base coats, 1K and 2K coatings, solventless/high solids coatings, and topcoats on plastics and metal. Features include high pigment loading, improved flexibility, and a long pot life.

Technical Details & Test Data

Curing With Polyisocyanates

Based on 100% conversion of reactive groups the following equation can be used to calculate the quantity of polyisocyanate needed for crosslinking 100 parts (insert product name) (on solids):

Polyisocyanate (f.o.d.) = 42 x 100 x OH% (solid resin) / 17 x NCO% (f.o.d.)

42 = molecular weight of the NCO-group

17 = molecular weight of the OH-group

Anhydrous solvents as well as solvents free of hydroxyl functional groups should be used in the presence of polyisocyanates, as dilution solvents.
