CYCAT® 4045 Catalyst
Function: Catalyst
CYCAT® 4045 Catalyst is an amine blocked para-toluene sulfonic acid catalyst. It is recommended for accelerating the cure response of amino crosslinking resins while providing improved formulation package stability compared with the un-blocked para-toluene sulfonic acid CYCAT 4040 catalyst. It is especially recommended for use with highly alkylated amino crosslinking resins. This product provides excellent stability in high solids and waterborne systems, and in the latter it can be added without causing binder precipitation, which can often occur due to a drop in pH.

CYMEL® 385 resin is a methylated high imino melamine resin with a low degree of alkylation. This carbamic resin, based on butylurethane and formaldehyde, has the properties of a plasticizer as well as that of a soft resin. It contains no organic solvents. EBECRYL® 350 is a silicone diacrylate that improves slip, substrate wetting, and coating flow and leveling when used as an additive in formulations cured by ultraviolet light (UV) or electron beam (EB). Cured films containing EBECRYL® 350 will exhibit a smooth, tack free surface, with good blocking resistance. Because of its acrylate functionality, the silicone cures into the polymeric backbone, thus eliminating the migration that free silicones often display in coatings. CYMEL® 1170 resin is a highly butylated glycoluril crosslinker designed for use in both water and organo-soluble coating systems. Its superior adhesion relative to existing melamine and benzoguanamine crosslinkers provides increased corrosion resistance and flexibility. ADDITOL® CPK (a.k.a. Photo-initiator 184) is a radical photoinitiator that can be used alone or in combination with other photoinitiators.
