IKE contains all the brewing-relevant substances in hops and can be used as a substitute for conventional CO2 extract be used. The yield is higher due to the isomerization that has already taken place, but the aroma can be a little different.

- Product Application
IKE can be used as a substitute for raw hops, pellets or extract in wort boiling. It can be with a A yield increase of around 60% and a comparable hop aroma can be expected. The bitter yield is excellent, regardless of the time of addition. However, a late addition affects during the Wort boiling, the hop aroma of beer. Therefore we recommend IKE to bitterness at the beginning of the Wort boiling and conventional Type 90 or Type 45 pellets as flavoring at a later date admit. The required amount of IKE results from the iso-α-acid content and the
Yield experience values. We recommend carrying out experiments with IKE in advance, as the yield also depends on the Cooking system and depends on the process parameters. If the addition is made by means of an automated dosing system, the extract should be heated to around 40 ° C in advance and gently stirred to ensure a clean dosage guarantee

Technical Details & Test Data
- Analytical Methods
The following analysis methods are recommended for IKE:
- EBC 7.8 for iso-α-acids, α-acids, β-acids with HPLC
- EBC 7.10 for hop oils
- ASBC Hops-13 for hop oils
Safety & Health
- Safety
In the event of skin contact, remove the product with soap and water. For more information, please refer to the corresponding safety data sheet (SDS).
Packaging & Availability
- Packaging
The iso-α-acid content can be standardized by setting the weight per packaging unit respectively. The can sizes are between 0.5 and 4 kg. Large single-use containers are available in sizes from 50 to 200 kg available. Viscosity analyzes can be requested for automated dosing. The entire inner surface the container is lined with a food-grade coating.
Storage & Handling
- Storage And Shelf Life
IKE should be stored in filled, closed containers between 15 and 25 ° C and within 12 months after Date of manufacture or, if stored at <10 ° C, can be used up within 24 months. Opened containers should be used up within a few days.
