BCC Resins

BC 7136-2 is an aluminum filled thick section casting system with heat resistance to 300°F. May be cast to a thickness of 2 inches in non-conductive molds, 3 inches in conductive molds, and thicker sections with the addition of bulk fill. For service temperature above 150°F a post-cure is required. Does not contain VCHD or MDA. BC 7136-2 is recommended for uses such as: RTM and RIM molds, matched dies, injection and compression molds, and constructing vacuum form tools.BC 7136-2 can be removed from the mold after allowing to set 24 hours at room temperature (75°F). Post cure for applications requiring temperatures above 150°F can be accomplished in an oven or in use by a gradual heat rise; 2 hours @ 150°F, plus 2 hours @ 250°F, plus 2 hours @ 300°F.

BCC Lik-Wood is a low viscosity, quick setting, easy to use casting material. A model or tool cast from Lik-Wood will weigh 60% less than other filled urethane systems. Within 30 minutes after mixing and pouring, Lik-Wood is ready to be carved, sanded, filed, tapped, etc.. Its amazing wood-like characteristics make it ideal for light-weight backing of laminates and/or surface coats. Perfect for fast take offs, cores, engineering changes, temporary molds, patterns, models, prototypes, and bases for die models.Handling Properties:BCC's Lik-Wood is a fast-setting, two part casting system which requires careful preparation prior to mixing parts A and B. Because Lik-Wood contains components having very low density there will be some separation at the surface of the material in its container. Using a paint shaker, jiffy mixer, or mixing spatula, re-suspension of the ingredients is easily accomplished. Precaution should be taken to prevent any moisture contamination from containers or utensils. It is recommended that the work area be well ventilated and normal cleanliness and safety rules be observed. Avoid prolonged exposure to vapors and contact with skin.Preparation of Mold Surface:Clean the surface from dust and possible presence of moisture. Apply BC 87 Parting Agent and polish to a uniform high gloss finish (usually 2-3 coats are recommended). For wood surfaces, 2-3 coats of a high quality sanding sealer is necessary. For plaster surfaces, seal with PVC sealer to ensure complete absence of moisture. For both wood and plaster surfaces, follow with 2-3 coats of 87 Parting Agent.Mixing and Pouring:Pour weighed or measured amounts of Part A & B into a separate dry container by pouring Part A into Part B. Mix with a spatula or mechanical stirrer for 30-40 seconds for quart size batches or 40-50 seconds for gallon batches while avoiding air entrapment. Immediately pour mixed resin uninterrupted from a convenient height above the mold cavity to resist air bubble entrapment. Clean your mixing tools by rinsing in an alcohol type solvent. Larger masses (2 feet or more) may be built up with successive pours. Castings may be demolded within 30-60 minutes but should be properly supported while "green". Under normal conditions, maximum hardness or cure will be achieved in 12-18 hours.

BCC Resins BC 4558 is a Thermoset Polyester product. It is available in North America. Applications of BCC Resins BC 4558 include aerospace and repairing material. Primary characteristic: flame retardant.

BC 4570 is a mulit-purpose paste designed for making quick repairs to a variety of substrates where service temperature exceeds 200°F (93°C). It is easy to mix and apply, cures in 15-20 minutes and can be readily shaped by filing, grinding, or machining thereafter. BC 4570 exhibits good adhesion to SMC, FRP, epoxy hi-heat molds, cast iron, aluminum, steel and many other surfaces. Featuring: heat resistance up to 425°F, excellent repair for aircraft/aerospace use, honeycomb core and foam core composite sealant, and repairs to SMC and FRP parts.

BCC Resins™ BC 4570

MB 1300 is a Mahogany colored rigid closed-cell polyurethane foam tooling and modeling board. MB 1300 is medium low density foam of approximately 30lbs/ft³ board. Easily cut using CNC machining equipment the MB 1300 is perfectly suited for visual master models, architectural design models as well as design verification and prototype tools.

BC 7069-1 is an aluminum filled, epoxy mass casting resin. This room temperature cure system may be cast to a thickness of ¾ inch in non-conductive molds and one inch in metal molds without foaming or yielding excessive shrinkage. Casting thickness can be increased by incorporating aluminum needles, puffs or granules. BC 7069-1 when properly cured, provides nearly perfect reproduction, resulting in a dimensionally stable, hard, tough surface. For use in constructing duplicate models, prototypes, patterns, facing dies.

BC 5008-2 is a very low viscosity, modified, unfilled, room temperature curing, general purpose resin system. Also considered an excellent general purpose adhesive for in-shop use and will function as a laminating system for horizontal surfaces.

BCC Resins™ BC 5008-2

BC 8405 is an unfilled, low viscosity, quick setting two component urethane system. An easy to use 1 to 1 mix ratio (Part A/Part B), BC 8405 offers the user a rationable working time of 15 minutes with parts demoldable in as little as 2 hours. When properly cured, BC 8405 will exhibit high impact strength and yield thermoplastic-like parts. Some outstanding features include the following: mercury free, moderate heat resistance, 1 to 1 mix ratio, turn white upon cure, longer mold life, high impact strength, no objectionable odor, excellent finishing properties, thermoplastic appearance, more parts per day.

BCC Resins™ BC 8405

BC 8660E is a multi-purpose elastomer that can perform many functions. Special product characteristics are: excellent use for molds for casting of concrete and plaster, resists moisture absorption, does not contain MOCA, MDA, TDI or MDI, very easy to use, cures at room temperature.
