AnnonaSense CLR™

1 of 1 products in this brand
AnnonaSense CLR™ provides the skin with means to establish a sustainable homeostatic balance, improving skin health and well-being. The potent adaptogenic action of AnnonaSense CLR™ supports the skin’s endocannabinoid system by activating the CB2 receptor. Through this action, it reduces inflammatory processes induced by TRPV1. Histamine-, as well as TNFα / Substance P-induced stress is down-regulated and the expression of a vital detrimental receptor in skin, IL-31RA, is decreased. AnnonaSense CLR™ makes the skin less sensitive and more balanced, even itch is perceivably reduced. Skin appearance is improved and the perception of well-being and quality of life is enhanced. AnnonaSense CLR™ is obtained from Annona Cherimola, common name Cherimoya, an edible fruit originating from South America.

Mode of Action

AnnonaSense CLR was developed to rebalance skins endocannabinoid/endovanilloid system via an adaptogenic approach. Through CB2 activation and reduction of calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) neuropeptide expression, the formation of key inflammatory mediators IL-1β, IL-6 and IL-8 can be reduced. It also reduces the expression of the specific receptor for the inflammatory cytokine IL-31, IL-31RA. Proven reduction in skin sensitivity and itching leads to improved skin appearance, well-being and quality of life

Safety & Health

Physiological Safety

Acute oral toxicity

Although still being considered exotic, Cherimoya fruits have a very long tradition in food industry because of their exceptional taste. The immature fruits are used in vegetable curries and as cooked vegetable. Well documented is the use in traditional medicine. Further testing on acute oral toxicity therefore was not considered necessary.

Eye irritation potential

AnnonaSense CLR (undiluted) was tested on the chorioallantoic membrane of the hen's egg (HETCAM). The calculated mean irritation score was 0. AnnonaSense CLR therefore was classified as "nonirritant" to mucous membranes.

AnnonaSense CLR (undiluted) was tested using the Bovine Corneal Opacity and Permeability Assay (BCOP). The calculated mean in vitro irritation score was: 0.55. According to the evaluation criteria AnnonaSense CLR is classified into UN GHS “No Category”.

Skin compatibility

A 48 hour Patch test with a hydrogel formulation containing 10% of AnnonaSense CLR has been performed on a panel of 50 volunteers (18-70 years; 28 normal healthy, 3 eczema, 4 allergy and 15 subjects with sensitive skin). All participants completed the study. Under the test conditions, SDS (1% in water) caused positive reactions in 16 subjects. The negative control water showed no reactions. None of the subjects showed any reaction to the test product. On the basis of these test results and under the test conditions, the product "AnnonaSense CLR" is to be classified as 'harmless' with regard to the possibility of skin irritation.

Mutagenicity

AnnonaSense CLR was investigated for its potential to induce gene mutations according to the bacterial reverse mutation assay using 4 different strains of Salmonella typhimurium and E. coli WP2 uvrA bacteria, with and without metabolic activation. No mutagenic effects could be observed in any of the five tester strains up to the highest dosage.

Phototoxicity

AnnonaSense CLR has been tested in vitro using the 3T3 Neutral Red Uptake Phototoxicity Assay. No phototoxic effects have been observed up to the highest dosage in this assay
