Span™ 83 is a liquid sorbitan sesquioleate for use in skin care and color cosmetics. It is part of a broad range of ester materials including sorbitan esters, mono and diglycerides, and polyoxyethylene sorbitol esters. This grade is used as a wetting agent and dispersant for pigments in color cosmetics and zinc oxide/titanium dioxide in suncare products. These nonionic surfactants can function as emulsifiers, detergents, spreading or dispersing agents. These product finds wide use in the personal care industry.
