Composition
Proprietary formulation comprising non-ionic surfactants and lubricants.
Use
As a spin finish for the treatment of polypropylene fibers and nonwoven fabrics for use on cover stock in food contact and hygiene applications. Appropriate for spunbond and especially for carded/thermal bonded nonwovens.
Application
CIRRASOL PE1185 can be applied from any dilution rate in water up to 25%, depending on the method and equipment used. Recommended application rates are in the range of 0.4% - 0.6% active product on the weight of dry fiber.
Dilution
Dilutions of CIRRASOL PE1185 can be made by adding the required amount of product to water at 60°C - 70°C with stirring. Agitation is continued until a fine homogenous emulsion is produced. It can be applied hot (to eliminate biocide addition) or cold.

- Performance Results
Performance comparisons of CIRRASOL PE1185 were made on fabrics treated with 0.5% finish and an untreated fabric (control). The performance of CIRRASOL PE1185 exceeded the performance of the control in all evaluated metrics. In addition, CIRRASOL PE1185 showed less than 1% weight loss and no change in appearance after exposure to 30 mins at 180°C. The product has good emulsion stability at 6% (greater than 1 day), and low viscosity (approx. 2 mPa.s) at 65°C.

CIRRASOL PE1185 can be stored for up to 12 months in unopened drums. It is recommended to store the material under cover between 10°C and 30°C. If the material becomes frozen, then it is recommended to warm the product to between 40°C and 50°C, and stir before use.
