Seatons Castor Oil No.1 possesses unique chemical and physical properties, primarily attributed to its high percentage of ricinoleic acid. This fatty acid contains a hydroxyl group on the 12th carbon atom and constitutes approximately 87% of the oil. Various grades of castor oil are available, including one infused with the antioxidant BHA. The No. 1 grade finds applications in furniture polish, where it enhances shine, as well as in shoe polishes, where it aids in waterproofing. Additionally, it serves as a non-drying lubricant and finds uses in liquid soaps, leather treatments, and disinfectants.
