- Film Properties
- Films of DeCAL 4040 are clear, glossy, alkali resistance, water resistant and flexible. Due to the low the minimum film forming temperature (MFFT) of the product film formation at ambient temperature does not require the use of a coalescent.
- For exterior low temperature application a small percentage of a suitable coalescent agent may be included in the final formula, to ensure proper film formation. Suitable coalescing agents include, DeCAL EA, BDDA and BDG.
- Recommended addition levels are in the range of 1-2% on total formula. Further improvements in heat and solvent resistance can also be achieved through the use of a suitable crosslinking agent.
