DOWANOL™ TPM glycol ether is a hydrophilic, slow-evaporating glycol ether with an excellent active solvency and coupling power. DOWANOL™ TPM glycol ether is an ideal choice when high polymer solvency and extended system residence time are required. It can maintain rheological properties over time in products such as stamp pads and ball point pen inks. Its high boiling and flash points make it an excellent choice for use in oven cleaners, and as a tailing solvent in high-solids, solvent-based coatings.

Butyl CELLOSOLVE™ is a very versatile solvent product with a good balance of many different properties. With a nearly equal balance of hydrophobic and hydrophilic character, Butyl CELLOSOLVE™ glycol ether provides excellent performance in coatings, cleaners, and many other types of products. It is one of our fastest evaporating glycol ethers. Butyl CELLOSOLVE™ glycol ether is compatible with a wide range of resin types, and it also offers 100% water solubility.

DOWANOL™ DPnB glycol ether is a slow-evaporating, hydrophobic glycol ether with excellent surface tension-lowering ability and coalescing properties. DOWANOL™ DPnB is a relatively slow-evaporating solvent which is one of our most efficient coalescents in water-borne latex systems. DOWANOL™ DPnB glycol ether combines a number of properties that contribute to very high latex film quality: 1) high polymer plasticizing efficiency, 2) large molecular size and therefore greater polymer mobility contribution, 3) strong partitioning to the polymer phase, and 4) relatively slow evaporation rate. This product is compatible with many different resin types. DOWANOL™ DPnB glycol ether also provides excellent surface tension lowering ability, and is useful in cleaning products by itself or when blended with other products such as DOWANOL™ DPM glycol ether. Used alone in cold metal cleaning, DOWANOL™ DPnB glycol ether is a good solvent for removing oils and greases.

DOWANOL™ DPM glycol ether is a mid-to slow evaporating solvent. This hydrophilic solvent has 100% water solubility and is ideally suited as a coupling agent in a wide range of solvent systems. DOWANOL™ DPM glycol ether has a higher flash point than DOWANOL™ PM glycol ether making it easier to handle, store, and ship. Often incorporated into latex emulsion coatings DOWANOL™ DPM glycol ether can be used to prevent shocking (coagulation of emulsion) when hydrophobic solvents are used. More broadly, its hydrophilic nature makes it an ideal coupling aid in water reducible coatings, and cleaning applications. DOWANOL™ DPM glycol ether’s intermediate evaporation rate allow it to be used in a potentially wider range of systems than many other solvents.

It can be used in combination with Butyl CELLOSOLVE™ glycol ether to lower the evaporation rate and increase the hydrophobicity of the solvent package. In addition, Butyl CARBITOL™ glycol ether offers 100% water solubility.
