DOWSIL(TM) 556 Cosmetic Grade Fluid is a phenyl functionalized siloxane polymer with uses in a wide range of cosmetic formulations. It provides non-oily, easy to spread emolliency in skin and sun care applications; shine, softness, and better manageability in hair care; and improved dispersibility of pigments color cosmetic applications. DOWSIL(TM) 556 Cosmetic Grade Fluid also has good compatibility with many cosmetic ingredients, including non-silicone ingredients.

Application Information
  • DOWSIL(TM) 556 Cosmetic Grade Fluid is easy to emulsify with standard emulsifiers by common techniques.
  • Solubility - DOWSIL(TM) 556 Cosmetic Grade Fluid is extremely soluble in 95% ethanol at room temperature. At temperatures as low as 4°C, up to 50% by weight of this fluid can be dissolved in 95% ethanol.
