    3) Remove PPE immediately after handling this product. Wash the outside of gloves before removing. As soon as possible, wash thoroughly and change into clean clothing.

    Agricultural Use Requirements

Use this product only in accordance with its labeling and with the Worker Protection Standard, 40 CFR Part 170. This standard con-tains requirements for the protection of agricultural workers on farms, forests, nurseries, greenhouses and handlers of agricultural pesticides. It contains requirements for training, decontamination, notification and emergency assistance. It also contains specific instructions and exceptions pertaining to the statements on this label about Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Restricted Entry Interval (REI). The requirements in this box only apply to uses of this product that are covered by the Worker Protection Standard.

Do not enter or allow worker entry into treated areas during the restricted entry interval of 48 hours. For greenhouse uses, do not enter or allow worker entry into treated areas during the REI of 24 hours.

For at least seven days following the application of Copper-contain-ing products in greenhouses:

    •  at least one container or station designed specifically for flushing eyes is available in operating condition with the WPS-required decontamination supplies for workers entering the area treated with Copper-containing products,

    •  workers are informed orally, in a manner they can understand:

    –  that residues in the treated area may be highly irritating to their eyes,

    –  that they should take precautions, such as refraining from rub-bing their eyes, to keep the residues out of their eyes,

    –  that if they do get residues in their eyes, they should immedi-ately flush their eyes with the eye flush container that is located with the decontamination supplies and

    – how to operate the eye flush container or eye flush station.

PPE required for early entry to treated areas that is permitted under the Worker Protection Standard and that involves contact with any-thing that has been treated, such as plants, soil or water is: Coveralls, chemical-resistant gloves made of any waterproof material, shoes plus socks and protective eyewear.

    Non-Agricultural Use Requirements

The requirements in this box apply to uses of this product that are NOT within the scope of the Worker Protection Standard for agricultural pesticides (40 CFR Part 170). The WPS applies when this product is used to produce agricultural plants on farms, forests, nurseries or greenhouses.

Do not enter or allow others to enter the treated area until sprays have dried.

    Avoid working in spray mist.

Keep all unprotected persons out of operating areas or vicinity where there may be danger of drift.

Certain states may require more restrictive re-entry intervals; consult your State Department of Agriculture for further information.

    Use Precautions
    1. Apply only through irrigation systems containing anti-siphon and check valves to prevent contamination of well during shutdown and overflow of solution.
    2. Inject ahead of any right angle turn in the main line to ensure ade-quate mixing.
    3. Chemical injection pumps and water pumps must have interlocking controls to ensure simultaneous shutoff.
    4. Application when drift may occur from windy conditions, when sys-tem joints and connections are leaking or when nozzles are not pro-viding uniform distribution may cause crop injury.
    5. Where sprinkler distribution patterns do not overlap sufficiently, un-acceptable weed control may result. Where sprinkler distribution patterns overlap excessively, crop injury may result.
    Use Information

IMPORTANT: Read the entire “DIRECTIONS FOR USE” and the WARRANTY—CONDITIONS OF SALE” before using this product. This product is a herbicide that should be applied before weeds emerge or following removal of weed growth. It controls a wide variety of annual Broadleaf and Grass weeds when used at selective rates in agricultural and ornamental crops. Where a range of application rates is given, use the lower rate on Coarser textured soil and soil lower in organic matter; use the higher rate on Finer textured soil and soil higher in organic matter.

To avoid spray drift, do not apply under windy conditions. Avoid spray overlap as crop injury may result.

This product enters weeds mainly through their roots; moisture is needed to move it into the root zone. Very dry soil conditions and lack of rainfall following application may necessitate shallow cultivation or rotary hoeing. This product is non-corrosive to equipment and nonflammable.

This product is a Group 5 Herbicide. Following many years of contin-uous use of this product and chemically related products, biotypes of some of the weeds listed on this label have been reported which can-not be effectively controlled by this and related herbicides. Where this is known or suspected and weeds controlled by this product are ex-pected to be present along with resistant biotypes, we recommend the use of this product in registered combinations or in sequence with other registered herbicides which are not triazines. If only resistant biotypes are expected to be present, use a registered herbicide which is not solely a Group 5 Herbicide. Where this is known or suspected and weeds controlled by this product are expected to be present along with resistant biotypes, we recommend the use of this product in reg-istered combinations or in sequence with other registered herbicides which are not triazines. Consult with your State Agricultural Extension Service for specific recommendations.

All mixers, loaders, applicators and other handlers must wear: Long-sleeved shirt and long pants, shoes plus socks, and chemi-cal-resistant gloves.

All pilots, flaggers, and groundboom applicators must wear: In addition, groundboom applicators must also wear chemical-resistant gloves.

Follow manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning/maintaining PPE. If no such instructions for washables exist, use detergent and hot water. Keep and wash PPE separately from other laundry.

    Engineering Controls

When handlers use closed systems or enclosed cabs in a manner that meets the requirements listed in the Worker Protection Stan-dard (WPS) for agricultural pesticides [40 CFR 170.240(d)(4-5)], the handler PPE requirements may be reduced or modified as specified in the WPS.

    Environmental Hazards

Simazine can travel (seep or leach) through soil and can enter ground water which may be used as drinking water. Simazine has been found in ground water. Users are advised not to apply simazine to sand and loamy sand soils where the water table (ground water) is close to the surface and where these soils are very permeable; i.e., well-drained. Your local agricultural agencies can provide further information on the type of soil in your area and the location of ground water.

This pesticide is toxic to aquatic invertebrates. Do not apply directly to water, to areas where surface water is present, or to intertidal areas below the mean high water mark. Runoff and drift from treated areas may be hazardous to aquatic organisms in neighboring areas. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment washwater.

Product must not be mixed or loaded within 50 feet of intermittent streams and rivers, natural or impounded lakes and reservoirs. Prod-uct must not be applied within 66 feet of points where field surface water runoff enters perennial or intermittent streams and rivers or within 200 feet of natural or impounded lakes and reservoirs. If this product is applied to highly erodible land, the 66-foot buffer or setback from runoff entry points must be planted to crop, or seeded with grass or other suitable crop.
