Hytrel® HTR8836 GY067
Chemical Family: Polyesters
Polymer Name: Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT), Thermoplastic Copolyester Elastomer (TPC-ET)
Common features of Hytrel® thermoplastic polyester elastomer include mechanical and physical properties such as exceptional toughness and resilience, high resistance to creep, impact and flex fatigue, flexibility at low temperatures and good retention of properties at elevated temperatures. In addition, it resists many industrial chemicals, oils and solvents. Special grades include heat stabilised, flame retardant, food contact compliant, blow molding and extrusion grades. Concentrates offered include black pigments, UV protection additives, heat stabilisers, and flame retardants. Hytrel® thermoplastic polyester elastomer is plasticiser free. The good melt stability of Hytrel® thermoplastic polyester elastomer normally enables the recycling of properly handled production waste. If recycling is not possible, DuPont recommends, as the preferred option, incineration with energy recovery (-24 kJ/g of base polymer) in appropriately equipped installations. For disposal, local regulations have to be observed. Hytrel® thermoplastic polyester elastomer typically is used in demanding applications in the automotive, fluid power, electrical/electronic, consumer goods, appliance and power tool, sporting goods, furniture, industrial and off-road transportation/equipment industry. Hytrel® HTR8836 GY067 is a high modulus, high performance polyester elastomer.

Rail Pads Made for Heavy Loads With DuPont™ Hytrel®
Pandrol, a leading provider of engineered rail and fastening systems, worked with DuPont to design more durable rail pads, after heavily loaded coal trains displaced rails and roadbeds on a vital route. The new system resulted in no track failures in over ten years of service.
Concept for e-Mobility Seating
It is believed that the interior design of the automotive will rival exterior design in importance. The seating and interiors will become the differentiator that powertrain once was for OEMs. This new concept for e-Mobility seating suggests Office style thin suspension seating made with Hytrel® can replace PU foam and metal springs.
Hot Runner Manual for Robust Molding of Semi-crystalline Resins
Maximizing productivity is an important factor in determining part cost. One way to improve productivity is using a hot runner system. The decision when to use a hot runner system is mainly influenced by “yield” as hot runners can add complexity and cost to molds and require additional maintenance. Due to continuous improvement in the hot runner design a robust molding process is possible even with traditionally more thermally sensitive thermoplastic resins.
