It is formulated without reportable levels of lead or other toxic heavy metals.ENVIRONMENTAL RESISTANCE: Rubber-to-metal bonding systems using THIXON P-11 display resistance to severe environmental exposures such as humidity and corrosion. Properly prepared bonds will also resist heat, salt fog, oil and water exposures.

THIXON® OSN-2-EF-VV is a general purpose one-coat adhesive for bonding various elastomers to metals, such as hot and cold rolled steel, stainless steel alloys, brass, aluminum, and zinc plated metals. Formulated without reportable levels of lead (or other heavy metals), chlorinated solvents and ozone-depleting chemicals._x005F THIXON® OSN-2-EF-VV can bond Natural Rubber (NR), Polybutadiene (BR), Polyisoprene (IR), Chlorosulfonated polyethylene (CSM), Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR), Chloroprene (CR) and Polyacrylate (ACM)._x005F THIXON® OSN-2-EF-VV is also used for post-vulcanization bonding. In addition, product bonds rubber to synthetic fibers such as rayon and polyester. It is a good general purpose rubber to substrate bonding agent that can be used as single coat or two coat system. The use of a ROBOND, THIXON® or MEGUM® primer or a two coat system will provide the best environmental resistance however THIXON® OSN-2-EF-VV does quite well as a stand alone coating in many general rubber to metal bonding situations._x005F THIXON® OSN-2-EF-VV is designed for faster curing cycles and possibly lower curing temperatures.

THIXON® 526 is a general purpose cover coat used for bonding rubber compounds to metals and other rigid substrates during vulcanization. In rubber to metal bonding applications, THIXON® 526 adhesive requires a MEGUM® or THIXON®primer. Other rigid substrates such as thermoplastics and other metal alloys may not require a primer. However,environmental resistances of the final application need to be considered.THIXON® 526 adhesive consists of reactive polymers and pigments in xylene. It is formulated without reportable levels of lead or other heavy metals. THIXON® 526 has well-balanced performance based on standard industry test specifications (ASTM D429-WDK2000).THIXON® 526 has good boiling water, heat and pre-bake resistance.THIXON® 526 enables global standardization and consolidation. Based on the chemistry, THIXON® 526 displays low mold fouling properties.

THIXON® 550 is a cover coat adhesive used with THIXON® adhesive primers for bonding EPDM, NR, HNBR, NBR, CR, IIR,and SBR compounds during vulcanization. It can also be used as a single coat adhesive for bonding synthetic elastomers to cord or fiber.THIXON® 550 is designed for hard to bond EPDM rubber compounds along with RFL treated synthetic fibers.
