DuPont

MULTIBASE™ AMB-12235

Function: Anti-Blocking Agent

Compatible Polymers & Resins: Polyethylenes (PE)

Carrier: Resin-based, Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE)

Features: Low Wear, Low Friction, Slip

DuPont AMB-12235 MASTERBATCH is a pelletized formulation containing siloxane polymers and an antiblock agent dispersed in low density polyethylene (LDPE) blown film grade. It is designed to be used as an additive in polyethylene compatible systems to impart benefits such as processing improvements (ex: FFS: Form, fill and seal bagging process) and modification of surface characteristics (low coefficient of friction (COF)). This was developed especially to reach the best performance in plastomer skin layers in PE films. High-speed, high-volume FFS packaging operations place stresses on LDPE film, including increased levels of surface friction. Reducing COF is critical to seamless throughput, high productivity and consistent quality. DuPont AMB-12235 MASTERBATCH provides exceptional slip performance while overcoming the drawbacks of organics and controlling costs. Application Additive in polyethylene compatible systems.

DuPont

MULTIBASE™ HMB-6301

Function: Anti-Wear Agent, Slip Agent

Compatible Polymers & Resins: Polypropylenes (PP)

Carrier: Resin-based, Polypropylenes (PP)

Features: High Productivity, Low Wear, Good Processability, Good Stability, Low Friction, Slip

DuPont HMB-6301 Masterbatch is a pelletized formulation containing 25% ultra-high molecular weight (UHMW) siloxane polymer with polypropylene homopolymer (PPH). It is designed to be used as an additive in the skin layer of BOPP film and compatible systems to impart benefits such as processing improvements (FFS: Form, fill and seal bagging process) and modification of surface characteristics (Low coefficient of friction CoF). High-speed, high-volume form-fill-seal (FFS) packaging operations place stresses on BOPP film, including increased levels of surface friction. Reducing coefficient of friction (COF) is critical for seamless throughput, high productivity and consistent quality. DuPont HMB-6301 Masterbatch provides exceptional slip performance while overcoming the drawbacks of organics and controlling costs. Traditional organic slip additives, including erucamide and oleamide, rapidly migrate to the film surface and dissipate in a short period of time. Because they migrate so easily, they can transfer between film surfaces during rolling and storage, from one film layer to another and from film to package contents, increasing the risk of food contamination. They also lose effectiveness under elevated temperatures, such as exposure to hot foods.

DuPont

MULTIBASE™ MB50-314

Function: Release Agent

Compatible Polymers & Resins: Polyethylenes (PE), High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE)

Carrier: High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE), Resin-based

Features: Good Mold Release, Low Wear, Lubricated, Good Processability, High Flow, Low Friction, Low Warpage, Slip

DuPont MB50314 Masterbatch is a pelletized formulation containing 50% of a functionalized ultra-high molecular weight (UHMW) siloxane polymer. It is designed to be used as additive in resin compatible systems to improve processing. Silicone-based plastic additives have been used in the plastics industry for several years to improve the mold release and flow of thermoplastics. They are effective in this role, although until now some difficulties have been experienced in the accurate incorporation of low-viscosity liquids into thermoplastic melts without use of specialized equipment. The DuPont MB Series Masterbatches address these problems by supplying a high concentration of an ultra-high molecular weight (UHMW) siloxane as a dispersion in a dry pellet form in a variety of thermoplastics. The siloxane is finely dispersed in the thermoplastic matrix as the discrete or discontinuous phase at an average particle size of less than 5 microns.
