Applications: SUPERSPERSE® EM-40 is commonly used as an additive to improve compatibility and color acceptance in solvent, aqueous and 100% solids systems. Itcan be incorporated into the dispersion/colorant or the base system. An addition of 0.5 to 3% based upon total weight of the base system or dispersion can significantly improve color acceptance, and minimize or even eliminate flooding and floating. Dispersions formulated using SUPERSPERSE® EM-40 are compatible with the following paint systems:
- Alkyds and monomer modified alkyds
- Oil and alkyd modified polyurethanes
- Styrenated alkyds
- 2K Epoxies and epoxy ester
- Chlorinated rubber
- Water-reducible alkyds, polyesters and acrylics
- Acrylic emulsions
- PVA emulsions
- PUD
- Recommended Usage Levels
- Recommended Usage Levels:When used as a grinding vehicle, SUPERSPERSE®EM-40 can be diluted 1:1 with a suitable organic solvent. The average pigment concentration attainable in the dilution is approximately 20% for organic pigments and 70% for inorganic pigments. SUPERSPERSE® EM-40 will also assist in keeping the colorant from drying too rapidly.
