Eastman Tritan™ TX1001 is an amorphous copolyester with excellent appearance and clarity. Tritan TX1001 contains a mold release derived from vegetable based sources. Its most outstanding features are excellent toughness, hydrolytic stability, and heat and chemical resistance. This new-generation copolyester can also be molded into various applications without incorporating high levels of residual stress. Combined with Tritan's outstanding chemical resistance and hydrolytic stability, these features give molded products enhanced durability in the dishwasher environment, which can expose products to high heat, humidity and aggressive cleaning detergents. Tritan TX1001 may be used in repeated use food contact articles under United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations. Tritan TX1001 is certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 51 for Food Equipment Materials and is also certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 61 – Drinking Water System Components-Health Effects.

It is compatible with numerous cross-linking resins and has a lower solution viscosity. In coatings, Eastman CAB-551-0.2, Food Contact gives clear films, reduces surface tack and mottling, minimizes cratering, improves flow and thermal reflow, and provides inter coat adhesion and good UV stability. It is useful for durable cross-linked formulations. Its good compatibility with a wide range of curing resin systems and its solubility in a wide variety of solvents and solvent combinations make it useful as an additive in numerous coating compositions. AQ 38S polymer aids the dispersion of many hydrophobic ingredients in water-based products and forms clear films at room temperature from aqueous dispersions. Eastman AQ ™polymers differ chiefly in glass transition temperature (Tg) or softening point. As indicated by the number in the product name, Eastman AQ 38S polymer has a Tg of about 38°C. The "S" indicates AQ 38S is supplied as solid pellets. Eastman AQ linear polyesters serve as film formers in numerous cosmetic and personal care applications. Because of its low Tg, Eastman AQ™ 38S forms flexible films on the skin. It imparts a smooth feel to creams, lotions, and sprays and adheres to the skin. Thus, it is useful as a film-former in sunscreen products, providing excellent water resistance. AQ 38 is added to the water phase and aids the emulsification of oil-phase UV absorbers. AQ 38 provides improved coverage for sprayable sunscreens.

Eastman Texanol™ ester alcohol is the premier coalescent for latex paints. It performs well in all types of latex paints, in a variety of weather conditions, and over substrates with different levels of porosity. Eastman Texanol™ ester alcohol provides the highest level of film integrity at low levels of coalescent, enhancing the performance properties of the paint including low temperature coalescence, touch-up, scrub resistance, washability, color development, thermal flexibility, and resistance to mudcracking. Eastman Texanol™; ester alcohol also enhances thickening efficiency when used with associative thickeners. Eastman Texanol™ ester alcohol also works well in a variety of other applications. It is an ideal choice as a retarder solvent for use in coil coatings and high-bake enamels. Its unique balance of properties also makes it useful for a variety of chemical specialty applications such as ore flotation / frothing, oil-drilling muds, wood preservative carriers, and floor polishes. With a boiling point of 254°C, (vapor pressure 0.01 kPa @ 20°C), Eastman Texanol ester alcohol is not classified as a VOC according to European Union Decopaint Directive 2004/42/EC (commonly referred to as the Decopaint Directive); European Union Solvent Emissions Directive); and the China State Environmental Protection agency. Due to its non-VOC status, low toxicity, and biodegradability, Eastman Texanol™ ester alcohol has been awarded Green Label Type II certificate in China by the China Environmental United Certification Co. Ltd. (CEC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the State Environmental Protection Administration of China (SEPA). It is especially indicated as the tackifier and resin modifier in solvent adhesives and hot-melt applied coatings and adhesives that must excel in these properties. It is also used in UV cured acrylics to improve adhesion to low surface energy substrates.

The hydroxyl group is reactive and may be crosslinked with urea formaldehydes, melamines, and polyisocyantes. Vantex™ T is available as a colorless to light yellow liquid with a slight amine-like odor. This pioneering amine additive is changing the world of paints and coatings by enabling environmentally friendly, low-odor, low VOC formulations. Vantex™ T is a neutralization amine additive that will allow paint manufacturers to formulate high quality paints, having virtually no amine odor. The product has a very low vapor pressure, with virtually no odor. It can be used as a replacement for current paint neutralization systems. VOC contribution is dependent on region and test method. In the U.S., testing by EPA Method 24 shows that this product does not contribute to the VOC content. However, ASTM D6886 with methyl palmitate as the GC marker shows that it is a VOC. In Europe, this product is not considered a VOC by article 5 of EU directive 2004/42/EC due to the boiling point being above 250°C.

Picco™ A-10 Hydrocarbon Resin is a low molecular weight, resinous plasticizer derived largely from aromatic petroleum feedstock. Picco™ A-10 Hydrocarbon Resin is characterized by its chemical inertness, excellent resistance to salts, acids, alkalies, water and brines and its solubility in a wide variety of hydrocarbon solvents. Picco™ A-10 Hydrocarbon Resin is indicated for use as a binder in lithographic (cold set) inks and as plasticizer, softener and tackifier for other resins and elastomers used in rubber compounding and various adhesive systems.

Eastman Cellulose Acetate Butyrate (CAB-381-0.1) is a cellulose ester with medium butyryl content and low viscosity. It was designed for use where low-application viscosities at relatively high solids levels are needed. It is soluble in a wide range of solvents and compatible with many other resins. It will also tolerate the use of solvent blends currently exempt from certain air pollution regulations. When CAB-381-0.1 is dissolved in appropriate solvents a clear, colorless solution is produced. It is supplied as a dry, free-flowing powder.Eastman CAB-381-0.1 is based on cellulose, one of the most abundant natural renewable resources, from trees harvested from sustainably managed forests. The calculated approximate bio-content value of 41% for Eastman CAB-381-0.1 was determined by using six bio-based carbon atoms per anhyroglucose unit divided by the total number of carbons per anhyroglucose unit. Dresinate™ 91 rosin soap is a fluid, high solids, aqueous solution of potassium soap of tall oil rosin. It is designed primarily for applications that require soap solutions of as low a water content as practical and of viscosity low enough that it is possible to pump the soap at practical temperatures. It is used as an emulsifier ingredient in solvent cleaners and soluble oils for metal cleaning. Dresinate™ 91 provides highly stable emulsions over a wide range of water hardness when used in combination with petroleum sulfonates in soluble oil formulations.

Picco™ AR100 Hydrcarbon Resin finds a widespread use in pressure sensitive adhesives, particularly in systems containing natural rubber or SBR. It offers an excellent balance of tack, adhesion and cohesive properties to pressure sensitive systems.
