- Heart Healthy - HDL is the “good cholesterol”, Blood HDL removes plaque from arteries, High blood HDL reduces risk of cardiovascular disease, Dietary HDL increases blood HDL levels. HDL stands for High-Density Lipoproteins, which are known as the “good cholesterol” because they remove Low-Density Lipoproteins (LDLs) and macrophages from the blood and artery walls, preventing a buildup of “plaque”. This “plaque” can restrict blood flow in arteries, leading to high blood pressure, or completely close off smaller blood vessels, leading to heart attacks and strokes. They are also anti-inflammatory, which increases healthy arterial blood flow and it actively prevents particles from sticking to the artery walls. Many studies and clinical trials show that increasing HDL levels can help reduce risk of heart attack, stroke, and peripheral artery disease. Eating whole eggs has also been shown to increase HDL in the blood (compared to egg white) in human studies. This is thought to be because of the HDL in the egg. These studies also found that eating the HDL in eggs decreases insulin in the blood, supporting the health of individuals with type II diabetes. High HDL levels in the blood encourage the body to make even more HDL molecules. HDL acts as an anti-inflammatory for the blood vessels, keeping them healthy and preventing the narrowing that leads to high blood pressure.
- LDLs and HDLs are both found in egg yolk, which is why egg yolks are thought to be “high in cholesterol”. Ecovatec’s proprietary processes process this egg yolk to remove the “bad cholesterol” (LDLs) and leave in the good HDLs. EcovaPure™ HDL is a powder product containing HDL molecules with some of the proteins hydrolyzed to remove phosvitin (which isn’t good for you in its full protein form). Nutritionally, it contains healthy fats (omega 3, 6, and 9), phospholipids, and proteins.
- HDL also meets consumer preferences for a non-GMO product which is extracted without the use of any harsh solvents, high temperatures, or high pressures that would denature the product.
- Reduced Cholesterol - 92% less cholesterol than egg yolk. Eat up to 10 eggs worth HDL. Never exceed your allotted daily cholesterol intake.
- Save Money - 1 kg EcovaPure™ HDL equals 500 eggs’ HDL, Significantly less expensive, more efficient.
- Nutrient Full - Complete source of nutrients. Contains antioxidant and antiinflammatory, proteins, healthy fats, omega 3, 6, and 9 fatty acids for optimal health.

- Nutraceutical Supplements: EcovaPure™ HDL is an ideal nutritional food ingredient as it contains all the powerful nutrition of the egg yolk without all the cholesterol normally found in an egg. You can eat up to 10 eggs worth of healthy HDL without exceeding your daily cholesterol limit. Have been shown in rabbit studies to decrease artery plaque, HDL consumed through egg yolks has been shown to improve the circulatory system and support those with cardiovascular disease and atherosclerosis. HDL shows anti-adhesive properties, preventing the growth of E. coli and Salmonella in the blood vessels.
- Functional Foods and Sports Nutrition: It can also be used as a healthy fat and protein source in functional foods such as protein powders or as a low cholesterol egg substitute in baked goods. HDL can be added to health foods and protein powders to improve the nutrition profile and give additional health benefits to the foods. Its powder form makes it easy to introduce into foods.
- Eggs have an excellent amino acid score and are considered one of the best protein sources available.

- Egg yolks contain all the nutrients needed for developing the life of a chick. This is why they are so nutritionally dense and an excellent food source for humans.
- EcovaPure™ HDL Isolate contains fewer calories, fat, cholesterol, and carbohydrates than an egg so you can consume more beneficial HDL per day without worrying about cholesterol!
- The lipids found in the fat portion are about 4%, 19%, and 39% omega 3, 6, and 9 respectively. These are considered “healthy fats” and have many benefits to the body. It also contains phospholipids, which provide valuable choline for optimal brain function.
- The yellow/orange color of egg yolk is due to antioxidant carotenoids such as lutein and zeaxanthin. Because these reside inside the HDL they are extremely bioavailable, adding to the amazing health benefits of eating EcovaPure™ HDL.

Component HDL 1 egg* Overall Weight per Serving 2 g 12.5 g High Density Lipoproteins 1.6 g 1.6 g Low Density Lipoproteins 0.2 g 6.7 g Cholesterol 15.7 mg 185 mg A lipoprotein is a spherical compound that contains lipids surrounded by phospholipids and proteins. HDL is smaller than LDL and contains less cholesterol inside. The function of HDL in the blood is to remove “bad cholesterol” such as LDL and triglycerides from the arteries. Studies have shown that eating eggs, which contain lots of HDL, increases the amount and efficiency of your blood HDL. Traditional methods of improving blood cholesterol includes the use of statins to lower LDL levels, but this is proving to be ineffective in preventing cardiovascular disease-related deaths. Researchers are now investigating treatments that improve HDL levels in order to achieve better patient outcomes.
Egg intake has been shown to not only increase blood HDL, but also to reduce overall LDL, plasma insulin, and improve insulin resistance. In animal studies, supplementing with egg HDL has been shown to reduce arterial plaque and improve blood cholesterol profiles.
