  • EcovaPure™ PL-40 is a premium, patent pending lecithin powder, isolated from egg yolk and containing about 40% phospholipids and 45% hydrolyzed proteins, with about 5% neutral lipids. In addition to being a versatile emulsifier, it is also a great source of phosphatidylcholine for nutritional uses as well as healthy egg protein.
  • Most egg lecithin products that have more than 30% phospholipids come in a paste form and are obtained using a solvent extraction. This means only the proteins are removed, leaving all the fat and cholesterol in the paste. They are usually used in infant formulas and are difficult to encapsulate into supplements. EcovaPure™ PL-40 is different! It is obtained through supercritical COextraction so is not processed through harsh solvents or high temperatures. It comes in powder form, making it easy to process and combine with other ingredients.
  • EcovaPure™ PL-40 dissolves quickly in water, is an excellent emulsifier as well as a supplement and cosmetic ingredient. It also meets consumer preferences for a clean-label non-GMO product.
  • The triglycerides found in PL-40 include omega 3, 6, and 9 fatty acids. PL-40 also contains naturally microencapsulated lutein and zeaxanthin, carotenoids associated with anti-inflammatory properties and overall cardiac health.

EcovaPure™ PL-40 has a broad range of useful applications:

  • It has undergone supercritical CO2 extraction so is not denatured by harsh chemical solvents or high temperatures and has applications in micelle technology in nutraceuticals as well as cosmetic products.
  • It is an excellent emulsifier that could be added to baked goods, sauces, confectionery, smoothies, or beverages.
  • It can also be directly added to nutraceuticals as a source of phosphatidylcholine for liver and brain health.
  • Its dry powder form makes it easy to use and store.
  • EcovaPure™ PL-40 meets world standards for the definition of lecithin, containing over 60% acetone insoluble matter. It can used in any quantity to provide nutritional value and, when used as an emulsifier, is typically used in amounts of 0.2-1% of an overall recipe (recipe dependent).

EcovaPure™ PL-40 Functionality:

  • Food Applications - Lecithin is primarily used in infant formula as well as supplements. It is also used as an emulsifier in many baked goods, confectionary, and sauces.

For example: PL-40 can be easily mixed with other supplements and packaged into capsules. Most other high-PL products are in liquid/paste form, requiring expensive and cumbersome gel capsules. PL-40 can also be mixed with active ingredients in oil and water to create naturally stable micelles that need no other stabilization. The oil and actives are taken into the center of the micelle, the proteins stabilize it, and the oil can then pass freely through the water-soluble lining of the intestine to the blood. EcovaPure™ PL-40 also meets consumer preferences for a natural, non-GMO product that is also soy, gluten, and sugar free. The phospholipids in MyCellePro™ are gently extracted from 100% egg yolk using no harsh solvents or high temperatures.

Phospholipids
  • Phospholipids are a major component of all cell membranes. Their unique structure makes them useful in water and fat/oil solutions and they are frequently used as emulsifiers (prevent oil and water separation). Phospholipid products are usually called lecithin and have a variety of commercial uses including pharmaceutical, cosmetic, dietic, and emulsification.
  • The phosphatidylcholine (PC) in phospholipids also provides well-documented health benefits such as: reduction in inflammation, cancer-prevention, cholesterol reduction, improved learning and memory, and treatment of liver diseases.
