DLR Elastomer Engineering Ltd Sorbothane - Durometer 30 (Shore 00)
  • Polymer Name:Polyurethane Thermoset Elastomer (unspecified)
  • End Uses:Acoustic Barrier, Diaphragms, Gaskets, Wear Pads, Hoses
  • Features:Vibration Damping, Chemical Resistant
DLR Elastomer Engineering Ltd Sorbothane - Durometer 30 (Shore 00) is one of our polyurethane products. Sorbothane provides good vibration isolation and vibration damping characteristics, making them a very effective acoustic damper. This material can also be bonded to other materials such as PTFE & metals.orbothane is a proprietary, viscoelastic polymer. Sorbothane is a thermoset, polyether-based, polyurethane material. In addition to being viscoelastic, Sorbothane also has a very high damping coefficient. Sorbothane combines shock absorption, good memory, vibration isolation, and vibration damping characteristics. While many materials exhibit one of these characteristics, Sorbothane combines all of them in a stable material with a long fatigue life. Sorbothane has a low creep rate compared to other polymers (rubber, neoprene, silicone, etc.)Sorbothane has a superior damping coefficient, over a very wide temperature range, compared to any other polymerSorbothane’s operating temperature range is -20° to +160° Fahrenheit (-29° to 72° Celsius)Unlike fluid-based shock absorbers or foam products, Sorbothane absorbs shocks efficiently for millions of cyclesSorbothane eliminates the need for metal springs to return the system to its equilibrium position after absorbing a shock

CR 60 B 3 F1 [C5985]
  • Applications:Wire & Cable, Jacketing & Insulation, Leather & Textiles
  • Product Families:Thermoset Elastomers, Chloroprene Rubbers
  • Chemical Family:Polychloroprenes
  • Polymer Name:Chloroprene Rubber (CR)
  • End Uses:Cable Jacketing, Gaiters, General Purpose
CR 60 B 3 F1 [C5985] general-purpose rubber has an excellent balance of physical and chemical properties that make it suitable in a range of applications. Whilst it may only have a moderate resistance to petroleum-based oil and fuels, CR has a much better chemical, oil, ozone and heat resistance than natural rubber, despite the lower level of physical properties. One major benefit of Neoprene® rubber is that by nature, CR rubber is one of the few self-extinguishing rubbers, which means it is flame resistance. Additionally, its gas permeability is relatively low. For industrial applications, Neoprene® gives excellent rubber-metal bonding and has good levels of rebound resilience. This compound lends itself to being fabricated into many different products with fabric reinforcement.Outstanding physical toughness Wider short- and long-term operating temperature range than general-purpose hydrocarbon elastomersResistance to hydrocarbon oils and heat (ASTM D2000/SAE J200 categories BC/BE)Resistance to ozone, sun and weatherBetter flame retardant/self-extinguishing characteristics than exclusively hydrocarbon-based elastomersAs with all elastomers, properties inherent in the base polymer can be enhanced or degraded by compounding with additional ingredients
