DeTERGE CS - 45LF is an exceptional, cost-effective, low-foaming surfactant resistant to chlorine. It's formulated for products containing up to 15% active caustic and other alkaline electrolytes. Chemically classified as an alkoxylated carboxylate, it's intended solely for use in alkaline systems and not recommended for acid systems.

Chlorine Stability

Testing was conducted to determine chlorine stability in the presence of DeTERGE CS - 45LF at 5% by weight. Samples were stored at ambient temperature and the percent available chlorine was determined over time as shown in the chart below.

Foam heights using 1% by weight surfactant were measured using a modified Ross-Miles graduated cylinder shake test under the conditions noted in each graph. The data below depicts foam height in deionized water. The foaming trends are similar in 5% active sodium or potassium hydroxide solutions.
