Imbarex S.A. Norbixin Water Soluble 15%

Imbarex Norbixin Watersoluble is a brown powder, obtained from the Annatto seed (Bixa Orellana). It is produced using a water-alkaline method of extraction followed by neutralization with inorganic acid. Then it is diluted and spray-dried.

    Applications

    This Product is primarily designed for use in products with low pH such as fruit fillings, salad dressings, dessert products, fruit juice drinks, beverages, etc. This product is also commonly used in systems with pHs greater than 4.0. It produces a yellowish-orange color depending on the product and the quantity used.

    Directions for use

    Dilute using smooth water and Potassium Hydroxide at a temperature of 50°C (max). Use constant agitation when adding powder. Sift through a net of 200 mesh. After cooling down to room temperature, add Potassium Hydroxide in order to reach a pH of 12.8 – 13.00.

    The color is in full compliance with the specifications for identity and purity given by the JECFA, with the EU Regulation 231/2012/EC, with later amendments for E160b (ii), and with existing legislation described in 21 CFR 73.30, 73.1030 and 73.2030. The product itself is not a GMO and no GMO ingredient is contained in it or used during its production process. No GM labeling on the final food product is required.
