Applications

This unique resin is used to build viscosity in metalworking applications, wire rope lubricants, and open gear compounds. It has utility in asphalt modification, both roofing and paving. Most notably, CrudeRes™ HV25 is used to improve the cooling rate of quenching oils. Despite the very dark color, this resin can find use in various coating formulations where it has the advantage of excellent solubility in inexpensive solvents. It can add gloss to coatings and hardness when baked. CrudeRes™ HV25 can be incorporated in spirit varnishes and in modifications of phenolics, alkyds, and ester gum varnishes.
