KURARAY POVAL™ 3-80 (Old name: PVA 403) by Kuraray is polyvinyl alcohol with colloid-chemical and excellent film-forming properties, and a high tensile strength. KURARAY POVAL™ 3-80 is used as a component of remoistenable adhesives, e.g. for postage stamps. In addition, the polymers are highly elastic and resistant to heat and organic solvents. Above all, the range of applications is based on the chemical properties, especially on the reactivity of the numerous hydroxyl groups with substances such as reactive resins, aldehydes and other reactive compounds.
