KURARAY POVAL™ 30-88 is a partially hydrolyzed polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) grade by Kuraray. It is suitable for modification of emulsion adhesives and remoistenable adhesives in the paper processing industry. It is used as an adhesive promoter. It provides good cohesion and adhesion to fibers, fillers and pigments. It exhibits good bonding strength and pigment binding capacity. It is recommended for use in postage stamps and labels. Aqueous solution of KURARAY POVAL™ 30-88 can be added to polymer emulsion which is already stabilized with polyvinyl alcohol to extend the open time, increase setting speed and influence the rheology.
