Kuraray Poval™ 4-98

KURARAY POVAL™ 4-98 (formerly Mowiol® 4-98) by Kuraray is a fully saponified polyvinyl alcohol having varying degree of polymerization and hydrolysis. It is an odorless, water-soluble polymer manufactured by alcoholysis of polyvinyl acetate. It possesses good penetration capacity and good adhesion properties. It provides high cohesion, toughness, low electrostatic charging and re-dissolving capacity of the dried film in water. Its aqueous solution can be added to polymer emulsions already stabilized with polyvinyl alcohol which affects the extension of the open time, setting speed and rheology. KURARAY POVAL™ 4-98 is designed for use in pressure sensitive adhesive labels. Complies with EU Directive 67/548/EC.
