KURARAY POVAL™ 40-88 by Kuraray is a partially saponified polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) grade. It possesses good cohesion and adhesion to fibers, fillers and pigments. It is suitable for modification of emulsion adhesives and remoistenable adhesives in the paper processing industry. It provides good bonding strength and pigment binding capacity. Aqueous solution of KURARAY POVAL™ 40-88 can be added to polymer emulsion which is already stabilized with polyvinyl alcohol to extend the open time, increase setting speed and influence the rheology. It is recommended for use in postage stamps and labels. Complies with EU Directive 67/548/EC regulation.
