KURARAY POVAL™ 95-88 (Old name: Poval® PVA 235) by Kuraray is polyvinyl alcohol. The range of applications is based on the chemical properties, especially on the reactivity of the numerous hydroxyl groups with substances such as reactive resins, aldehydes and other reactive compounds. Used as a component of remoistenable adhesives, e.g. for postage stamps, partially hydrolyzed polyvinyl alcohol grades ensure that the adhesive strength is not impaired even in fluctuating air humidity. Exhibits specific colloid-chemical and excellent film-forming properties, and a high tensile strength.
