AQUALICIA® is a concentrate of peptides obtained from Acacia macrostachya seeds by a bio-enzymatic process that protects both people and the environment, patented by Laboratoires Expanscience.
AQUALICIA®, biomimetic active ingredient, provides a dynamic and optimal cellular hydration that meets the needs of today’s stressed skins.
- Product Background
Effectiveness in-vitro/ex-vivo
AQUALICIA® stimulates water trapping
Topical application of 0.6% AQUALICIA® (vs placebo) for five days on explants biopsies) of previously delipidated normal human skin (ether/acetone, 2’).
AQUALICIA® optimizes water distribution
Topical application of 0.6% AQUALICIA® (vs placebo) for five days on explants (biopsies) of previously delipidated normal human skin (ether/acetone, 2’).
AQUALICIA® preserves skin’s moisture
Strengthening of the cutaneous barrier in the stratum corneum and granulosum
Clinical study
The beneficial effect of AQUALICIA® on key hydration parameters
A randomized double-blind vs. placebo evaluation was carried
out using RAMAN spectroscopy measurement.
This technology makes it possible to characterize and quantify the
relevant molecules of the corneal layer (stratum corneum and
stratum disjunctum ) with high precision.
Experimental protocol:
• 23 women aged between 18 and 65 (each subject observed her
own results)
•forearm application; one forearm treated with a cream
containing 0.5% AQUALICIA® and the other forearm treated with
the placebo
• 2 applications per day for 29 days
