Maca, a Peruvian plant of the high Andes, has been known since Neolithic for its medicianal virtues and grows in fragile ecological areas. In order to respect local practices, Laboratoires Expanscience only use plants harvested from the wild under controlled conditions or cultivated on agricultural land.
Priority is given to endemic species, so organic maca is sourced only from Latin America, its land of origin. SKINHAIRGIUM® Bio is obtained directly from ground Maca tuber using a bio-enzymatic procedure patented by Laboratoires Expanscience.

Stimulation of proliferation of aged fibroblasts
In this study a model of skin fibroblasts,artificially agedin vitro, derivedfr om plastic surgery(on afemale patient aged 26) and cultured tohigh passage numbers (P15) is used. Without the active ingredient, thereplication capacities of aged fibroblasts (P15) are much lower thanthose of young fibroblasts (P5)

Clinical Study
- Randomized comparative study, double-blind vs placebo, including 19 women aged 49 to 67 years (average age 60).
- Application of cream with SKINHAIRGIUM®Bioand placebo cream to the face, twice a day for 8 weeks, hemifacial area(each subject observed her own results)*.
- Wrinkles measurement and skin tone evaluation.
Effect on wrinkles
Skin prints were taken using Silflo resin at T0 , 4 weeks and 8 weeks in the “crow’sfeet” area then analyzed by video imaging.
Fromweek4, the SKINHAIRGIUM®Bio group showed a significant decrease in all wrinkle parameters:
- average depth.....-3%
- length.....-12%
- area.....-12%
- number of wrinkles.....-10%
The placebo had no significant effect on these parameters , either at week 4 or 8.
Effect on skin radiance and luminosity

There wasa significant improvement in terms of radiance and luminosity from week 4 for the cream with SKINHAIRGIUM®Bio.After eight weeks, complexion radiance had improved by 35% and luminosity by 25%.The placebo cream had no significant effect on these parameters,either at week 4 or 8.
