Trilene® CP-1100 can be used as a high viscosity base fluid or thickener – viscosity index improver or viscosity modifier – for a wide variety of engine and industrial lubricating oils, both mineral oil and synthetic based. Some examples:
- Gear Oils – both automotive and industrial
- Bearing Lubricants / Circulating Oils
- Compressor Oils
- Greases
Trilene® CP-1100 is a viscous liquid, similar to conventional VI improvers. Typical usage levels for various high viscosity ISO grade products can be estimated using the chart at the bottom.
Low temperature characteristics are very important in synthetic lubricants. Some typical results, using Trilene® CP-1100, are demonstrated at the bottom.
The low molecular weight of the Trilene® CP-1100 means excellent shear stability. Examples, using the Sonic Shear and KRL (20 hour Tapered Bearing Shear Test) techniques are shown at the bottom.
