Mini Fibers ACRYLIC FIBERS Flock is a manufactured fiber in which the fiber-forming substance is a long-chain synthetic polymer composed of at least 85% by weight of acrylonitrile units, and no more than 15% by weight of vinyl acetate.

Features

Good resistance to acids, except nitric. Good resistance to weak alkalis.
Easily dispersed in aqueous and non-aqueous systems. Surface treatment to aid dispersion applied as required. Sticks at 430 to 450oF. Does not melt.

Short cut Acrylic fibers are used for reinforcement in high heat applications, and to create porosity and loft in nonwovens.
