CoatOSil™ MP 200 silane promotes adhesion in a broad range of applications via multiple epoxy and silane groups on each oligomer chain. Its gamma-gylcidoxy propyl epoxide ring reacts with many organic groups while its alkoxy silane groups promote adhesion to inorganic substrates. Condensation of its silanol groups can also provide crosslinks between polymer chains.

CoatOSil™ 3501 coatings additive is the Momentive Performance Materials most powerful friction reducing agent, providing the maximum in coefficient of friction (COF) reduction for radiation-cured formulations in its portfolio of coatings additives. And this additive isn’t one-dimensional; it also functions as an extremely effective defoamer, especially in aqueous systems. And it enhances slip and mar resistance in waterborne, water-reducible and conventional and high-solids solvent systems.

Enhancing the physical properties of water-borne dispersion polymers, such as polyurethane and acrylic latexes, CoatOSil™ 2287 silane enables the formulation of coatings with good shelf stability, improved wet adhesion and enhanced resistance to water and organic solvents. CoatOSil™ 7001 copolymer is an additive for improved flow and leveling of solventborne two-component acrylic-polyol isocyanate cured coatings. When CoatOSil™ 7001 copolymer is incorporated as a flow and leveling additive, the appearance and distinctness of image (DOI) of the clearcoat is typically excellent, compared to current commercial additives used in the fomulations discussed.

CoatOSil™ 1770 silane can benefit from better adhesion, improved appearance, and longer retention of functional and esthetic properties. As a cycloaliphatic epoxy silane, CoatOSil™ 1770 silane can deliver crosslinking in latex under room or elevated temperature cure conditions. The product's nonfoaming characteristics and superwetting properties make it an excellent candidate to consider for coatings applied by spray or high-speed roll methods. CoatOSil™ 1211C coatings additive applications may include coatings for plastic films and components, wood and glass coatings. May improve results on less than optimal prepared surfaces.

CoatOSil™ 3500 coatings additive provides an excellent balance of properties in radiation cure coatings. It reduces coefficient of friction (COF) in acrylate based coatings, without generating foam or reducing gloss. This is possible because of its compatibility in formulated coatings. In addition, CoatOSil™ 3500 coatings additive is an exceptional general purpose flow and leveling agent and antimar additive for both waterborne and solventborne coatings.

CoatOSil™ DSA 6 friction modifier is a silicone micro resin and an excellent candidate to consider for use as an additive to help improve the performance of coatings. In addition to providing silicone lubricity, CoatOSil™ DSA 6 friction modifier has a lower specific gravity than conventional inorganic fine powders and typically has superior heat and chemical resistance as compared with conventional organic fine powders.
